Hello, I’m Pauline

I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with 25+ years’ experience working with a wide range of presentations.  I live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia with my family and I’m passionate about integrative healing.

In my private practice, I work collaboratively with my clients, fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship to enhance the healing process.  My approach is eclectic, compassionate, client- centred and trauma-informed. I specialise in complex presentations, including PTSD, relationship conflict, abuse, life transitions, grief and bereavement.

My education and life experiences, in particular my training in Compassionate Inquiry, has helped me to see the importance of an integrative approach to help my clients to heal their mind, body, and soul. I offer both face to face and online sessions. I am a Medicare Provider, so my clients may be eligible for rebates. I look forward to hearing from you to explore how I can assist you on your journey into self-compassion and healing.

  • "Pauline is a mental health accredited social worker, and she works with trauma, very buried/ignored emotions and is very, very gentle (but she can push when required)"

  • "For quite some time I had been closely involved assisting in the care of my sister who was battling a terminal illness. As time went on increasingly she felt the need to talk to someone outside the family who could help her understand her journey, discuss personal & emotional issues & give her guidance. After various attempts without any satisfaction & when we felt we'd nowhere else to turn we we fortunately put in touch with Pauline Nunn. What a God send!"

  • "I started working with Pauline at the end of 2020, I feel like I have known her a lifetime. I went to her at a time where I couldn’t express to anyone how I was feeling. I was terrified of everything; I just knew I needed help.

When I look back on who I was in 2020, I could not be more proud of what I have achieve and could not have done this without her. She helped me to feel whole again. I still have things I need to work on, but I am not scared anymore, I will continue to talk to Pauline, that’s for sure!” Louise

  • “Death is a tough experience for all, those who's life it is and have to bare the pain of leaving loved ones behind and all the emotion it brings, and those that are going to lose a loved one and the intense heart break that come over days, weeks, months or even years.

My mum and I were very fortunate to have Pauline in our lives over her final months offering support and freedom for mum to be able to share her thoughts, feelings and questions without worrying about our feelings and us a space to understand what we were going through and how best to navigate that and support mum. Words will never express how grateful I am for Pauline's support during this time and in the weeks that followed as regardless you are never prepared for how it feels after you loose a loved one.

Society does not deal with death well, meaning we are not set up to deal with it well when the time comes”. This quote by Robert Woodruff Anderson encapsulated the feeling that Pauline helped me arrive at which has helped navigate the entire journey that will continue.... "Death ends a life, but it does not end a relationship"

I encourage anyone going through serious illness to reach out for support during this time for yourself and your loved ones.

  • Pauline‘s professionalism, clinical wisdom and insight provides a therapeutic space like no other. Her ability to assess and assist in trauma and therapy has been a safe holding space. Her skills and depth of experience creates a healing platform, making it possible to overcome adversity and barriers that have shown up in therapy.

I have accessed many mental health professionals in the past and struggled to connect and build a strong working client/therapist relationship until working with Pauline. I have benefited greatly from her care and expertise. Pauline’s wealth of knowledge in trauma, attachment styles and other mental health topics have been a main catalyst in my recovery.

Pauline has been instrumental in my healing in moving through and healing from complex trauma” Jo

  • "Dear Pauline, There isn’t enough money in the world, or a gift of enough value, to measure up to the worth of your help & friendship to me during the darkest time of my life. Thank you Pauline." Mary Lane
